Golden Waste

«Golden Waste» is a film in collaboration with multidicisplinary Yasmina Benabdelkrim.

She captures ephemeral sculptures that are made with organic material, originating from Valencia (Spain), Jalisco and Oaxaca (Mexico). The organic waste was frozen in order to stop the process of decomposition, which allowed her to capture the sculptures as they are or further manipulate them with a scanner. Through which she creates the illusion of microorganisms and their labor to transform organic decay into compost. The film reflects on the importance of microorganisms, and the relationship that we human beings have with the earth and compost. A life cycle. An indivisible unit.
